Teaching Methodology
At MRV, we believe that every child is unique; hence the basic premise of curriculum at pre-primary is based on dynamic and experiential learning. The aim is to stimulate every child’s mind and cultivate positive learning attitudes. Our ‘Optimal Teacher to Student’ ratio ensures the effective transaction of the curriculum within the classroom.
We follow ‘Theme-based’ learning through innovative and ‘Fun-n-Play’ approaches where two topics are covered in a month. Each theme begins with a Physical or a Virtual field trip centering on sensory motor experiences and higher order thinking by having children to focus on how and why things happen.
For two weeks, the topic is reinforced through cohesive activities like:
- Music & Movement
- Exploration and Expression through Pottery, Art & Craft
- Mind Mapping
- Directed Recreation and Independent Play
- Pincer Muscle Co-ordination and Techniques of Fine Motor Development
- Experiences of Practical Life Activities
- Language Development Modules like Story Narration and Dramatisation, ‘My Turn on the Mike Day’, ‘Show & Tell Day’, ‘I Can Express Day’ and many more opportunities for a child to express.
- Learning through Fun-n-Play, Puppet Shows, Shadow Plays, Enactments, etc.
Co-Curricular Activities – Multiple Intelligences Model
MRV follows the Multiple Intelligences Model. These are integrated into the curriculum framework in a fun-filled way to enhance the overall development of each child. Children gain immense satisfaction and sense of achievement while ‘learning by doing’. Using their creativity and imagination further encourages their concentration, endurance, dedication and teamwork.
Music is an integral part of the school. Raga based rhymes are specially made by the Music Teachers. Conventional rhymes are used only as fillers.
At MRV, we offer a diverse choice of co-curricular activities for our students right from Pre-School to Secondary section. These are interwoven and integrated into the curriculum and form an essential ingredient required to ensure the harmonious growth of personality in children.
